What a fun place! I did not check the reviews before choosing this place. My phone was on the last little battery after a long Cubs game - so I thought I would chance it.
Decor is super cute and reminded me of my favorite Mexican spot in Seattle. The restaurant was pretty empty when we came - 4pm on a Sunday. We were seated quickly and brought waters, chips a salsas right away.
Our server was very efficient and nice too! He was being ran a little ragged by a table of entitled 20 year old kids (they interrupted us TWICE! while he was taking our order. Seriously! Is this your first day in public???). He had a great attitude about it, though and I appreciated his personality and professionalism.
I was looking to try one of the combination plates - just a little sampler of what they had to offer; I was hungry, but it was pretty humid out so I wasn't starving. The combination plates looked great, except they all came with Chile Relleno - which I do not care for. There was a note that said "no substitutions" on the menu. Now, I've been in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years and it always just rubs me the wrong way when restaurants come from a place of "no". I get it from a culinary production standpoint - you go through a lot of trouble to make a menu, but it makes me feel weird because I was taught that you come from place of yes when you work in this business.
I would for sure come here again, but probably not for weekend brunch. Not because I think the restaurant would be bad, but it seems like the kind of people who come here would be insufferable.
You do get a free Flan with the Yelp check in! I will need to cash in on that the next time we visit. -

Hey El Mariachi!
If you're not equipped to handle to-go orders, especially through Yelp/GrubHub online, figure out a way to get that message out or turn it off. Not cool to have GrubHub support call me to cancel the order AFTER we spent time pouring over the menu, ordering online, getting hungry, and after you already sent me a confirmation.
This one star is for this experience. Generally, I really like the food here. But tonight, and likely moving forward, other businesses get my money. -

I've been here a couple of times before and the service keeps going downhill everytime.
First time, service was good. Second time- it took an absurdly long time to order, get our food, and pay the bill (we couldn't get anyone's attention for 15+ minutes, went up to the hostess stand to ask for the check, and it still took a lot of time to get the check).
This time, we made a reservation the day before for 12ish people. When we get to the restaurant and go to check in for our reservation, the guy at the hostess stand (rudely) states that there is no reservation. We wait another 10 minutes to try and clear up the situation. They told us there was nothing they could do and refused to talk to us further and said they can just put our names down.
If they had at least attempted to talk to us about the situation, and not ignore/ brush us off then it would have been fine. They even mentioned they messed up the reservation!
Don't go here, they are rude and the food is not worth the hassle. Not the first time our reservation was lost. We did not end up eating here, and will not be coming back. -

Came for dinner. Ordered two pitchers of margaritas. They were $28 ea and probably had a shot of tequila max in them. Pretty disappointing. Plus the service was sooo slow. Dinner was overpriced. $21 for steak fajitas that were just okay.

I called on Friday afternoon for a reservation for a party of 12 on Saturday at noon the next day.
We go in on Saturday and the host tells us they lost our reservation. We definitely called this location, not the other one and I even went back to our call history to make sure it was the right location and it was. No one at the host stand bothered to apologize or take responsibility for losing our reservation, which was already kind of upsetting. Then, they told us they'd seat us so we waited 30 min. We went back at 12:30 and they tell us it would be another 20 min because they already had the big table reserved for another group.
I feel like this was kind of ridiculous because it was the restaurant's fault they lost our reservation and they did NOTHING and made ZERO EFFORT to apologize or do anything to speed up our seating time. In fact, they told us "there was nothing they could do". My boyfriend tried to talk to the person who seemed like the manager and he said he couldn't talk to my boyfriend because he already talked to other people in our party, which makes no sense at all.
Will not be coming back here ever again just based on this alone.
